Hi my name’s Rachel Dowd!

I’m so excited to be a part of the Big Sky Stories team as I truly believe in their philosophy and practice of Literacy, Learning and Creative Arts!

I choose to volunteer because I am a passionate Early Childhood Teacher and believe in the importance of sharing and building lifelong learners, enjoyers of books and imagination, especially in a rural context!

I’m currently working full-time at Rainbow Preschool as the Early Childhood Teacher, I am studying my Master of Autism Studies and beginning my journey in Speech Pathology. However, I still want to be a part of Big Sky Stories as their existence is so important to our children’s lives, their families and the wider community, now and into the future.

You might see me some Saturdays and during the school holidays, I’m always keen to chat about books, spiders and anything in between.
